Steelers Fans Disappointed As Season Comes To A Close

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Like any die-hard Steeler fan, those faithful to the black and gold ventured to Heinz Field Sunday afternoon ready for what turned out to be a win against the Cleveland Browns.

That win temporarily kept their slight hope of the playoffs alive.

"There's a lot of things in the cards. A lot of teams that have to lose and the one that I'm worried about is the San Diego game," Tony Garcia said.

For Steelers fans, that game came with some big nail-biting moments.

Fans watched the as fate of the season was in the hands of Kansas City and the excitement was palpable.

However, a missed field goal by Ryan Succop and an overtime disappointment officially hung things up for the Steel City.

Some fans are calling it the season of "almost."

"We didn't think we'd be here at this point anyways so to go to overtime in the last game of the season, it was kind of ridiculous. Can't say it was a good ride because we had a horrible year, but hey going into next year it will be okay," Ryan Fleischer said.

Optimistic fans said the Steelers were able to redeem themselves towards the end of the season.

"They didn't start the season out too well this year, but they're finishing it out really great," Delaney Cassler said.

"My saying is ultimately you can't have a perfect season every year. So, we have to let another team in the NFL have the fame," Caroline Cherub said.
