OIL CITY (KDKA) – A man in Oil City suffered only minor injuries in a Tuesday morning crash.

According to police, 44-year-old Michael Yashinski got into his father-in-law’s vehicle near the 100-block of Clearfield Street.

As he was making his way down the hill, the brake lines failed. As a result, the vehicle crashed through a guardrail at the bottom of the hill.

The guardrail came out of the ground and wrapped around both sides of the vehicle. The vehicle became airborne in the crash and rolled a few times before coming to rest.

Yashinski only suffered bruising to his chest and ribs from the seatbelt.

There were two inches of snow on the road at the time of the accident.
