Monroeville Real Estate Business Owners Facing Theft Charges

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- Two women accused of using their Monroeville real estate closing business to steal more than $200,000 from a client have turned themselves into authorities.

According to the Allegheny District Attorney's Office, Naomi Peters and Diana Baleno are facing several charges including criminal conspiracy, misapplication of entrusted funds and receiving stolen property.

Baleno, of New Kensington, and Peters, of Plum, own Ultimate Settlement Services.

They are accused of using money intended to pay off a client's mortgages for their company's expenses.

The criminal complaint reports Baleno and Peters were handling the refinancing of the client's mortgage when they instead allegedly used some of the money to pay off their own company expenses.

The criminal complaint goes on to report that Baleno and Peters satisfied part of the mortgages to Greentree Lending, but the other portion that was to be paid to Bank of America was never satisfied.
