2 Sought After Large Sums Of Heroin Found In McKees Rocks

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) – Arrest warrants have been issued for two men after large amounts of heroin were found in McKees Rocks apartments.

According to police, the first incident happened on Dec. 17, 2013, when a parole officer went to 25-year-old Omari Thompson's apartment.

The parole officer noticed a large amount of packaged heroin along with a Ruger .357 revolver with a scope in the apartment. When police arrived, they seized 4,500 individually packaged bags of heroin, the gun and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Thompson will be charged with possession with intent to deliver.

He is believed to have gang affiliations and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The other incident happened on Jan. 20, 2014, in the 800-block of Island Avenue.

Officers were initially called to the scene for an alleged "violent invasion-type burglary."

Initially, police believed a child was in the apartment and immediately entered. While searching for a possible suspect or victim, police found packaged heroin on a kitchen table.

No one was inside the apartment at the time.

Officers seized 8,000 individually packaged bags of heroin along with $18,000 cash.

As a result, police filed charges against 27-year-old David Johnson.

He is facing possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Police believe Thompson and Johnson may be working together.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call McKees Rocks Police at (412)-331-2302 or by dialing 911.
