Deep Freeze To Set In Monday For Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Get ready to go back into the deep freeze in the Pittsburgh area.

A powerful cold front has resulted in dramatically falling temperatures and some Monday morning snowfall.

According to Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, by 4 p.m., the temperature will be around 10 degrees with sub-zero wind chills.

For tonight, expect variable clouds and very cold with a low of minus-10 degrees and wind chills 20 to 30 degrees below zero.

A Wind Chill Warning takes effect at midnight tonight.

For Tuesday, there will be a little bit of sunshine, but the frigid temperatures will continue with a high near 5 degrees. Wind chills will continue to be 20 to 30 below zero throughout the day.

Tuesday night will be clear and bitterly cold with a low of minus-10 degrees and wind chills staying at 20 to 30 below zero.

On Wednesday, temperatures will rise slightly with a high of 13 degrees and some sunshine.
