Pa. College Student Accused Of Having Bomb Making Materials

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The FBI and federal prosecutors are reviewing allegations against a Pennsylvania college student from Russia who is accused of possessing bomb-making and marijuana-growing materials.

No federal charges have been filed against Vladislav Miftakhov. He remains in the Blair County Prison, unable to post $500,000 bond.

Police say he had bomb-making and marijuana-growing materials in his rented bedroom near the Penn State-Altoona campus. That's about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Miftakhov doesn't have an attorney, although Hollidaysburg defense attorney Bob Donaldson has told The Altoona Mirror he expects to be appointed to the case. Donaldson hasn't returned calls from The Associated Press.

Miftakhov was arraigned Saturday.

His roommate Andrew Leff told the newspaper Miftakhov was bored and impulsive but not dangerous.
