Police Investigate Indiana Co. Suspicious Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating a suspicious death in Indiana County.

The Indiana County Coroner's Office reports that there were no visible signs of injury on the body of 66-year-old Janice Keith.

Officials say she was naked from waist down, lying in the snow outside her home on Spruce Avenue in Clymer.

The only clothing she was wearing was a t-shirt under a sweatshirt.

A beauty shop owner found the body Friday morning while on her way to work.

She noticed the door of the house was open.

Keith lived alone in a rented home.

She moved in about six months ago, and was estranged from her husband.

He tells KDKA that Keith has been taking large doses of the painkiller Oxycontin after 14 back surgeries over the years.

He said at times she could become disoriented.

At this point, the Indiana County District Attorney will only say the death is suspicious and he's turning it over to local and state police investigators.

Police hope an autopsy will be able to determine an exact cause of death.
