Snow Piling Up Around Area, More On The Way

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – More snow arrived overnight across the area, giving a fresh coating to the Pittsburgh area and much more to the south and east of the city.

According to KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, 4 to 6 inches of accumulation has been experienced in parts of Greene, Fayette and Westmoreland Counties and across the line into West Virginia.

The snow will wrap up by late morning in the Pittsburgh area and after 1 p.m. south of the Mason-Dixon Line with very little additional accumulation in Pittsburgh.

However, another 2 to 3 inches will fall to the south and east of Pittsburgh.

Today's high will be around 31 degrees. Tonight will be partly cloudy and cold with a low of 17 degrees.

For Tuesday, expect it to be mostly cloudy and chilly with a high of 35 degrees.

Then, our next storm system arrives during the evening and overnight hours into Wednesday. This will be a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, which will make the Wednesday morning rush hour slick.

The low by Wednesday morning will be 29 degrees, so icy spots will be a concern as this active winter goes on.
