Bortuzzo Reacts To Canada Winning Gold, Talks About His Break Away From Hockey

PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) - The NHL's Olympic break is all but wrapped up and players from across the league are getting ready to return to action.

While some of the players had a break others represented their country in Sochi at the Winter Games.

Canada won gold in men's hockey and although he wasn't in Sochi, fellow Canadian Robert Bortuzzo joined Colin Dunlap Monday night on 93.7 The Fan to react to their victory.

Colin asked Bortuzzo what he believed was the reason for Canada's run to the gold medal.

Bortuzzo told Colin, "They were just sound all around deep and their defense was rock solid they got in and out of their zone quick and I think it made it tough for other teams to score goals, which was evident."

During the Olympic Games Bortuzzo got a chance to take some time off and relax while his teammates were away competing in Russia.

Colin asked Bortuzzo about his time away from the ice and the Penguins defenseman told him, "we did some fishing down south, held the reel on a big marlin, so it was pretty cool."

The guys talked about that and plenty more, click the link below to listen to the rest of their discussion.
