Winter Storm Likely To Impact Weekend

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – If you're sick of snow, you might want to avoid looking outside this weekend.

KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman continues to monitor the progress of an approaching storm for the weekend.

It appears that there will be brief warming for Saturday and a mix of rain and snow with highs in the low 40s.

Then, a strong low pressure system moves in for Sunday, while arctic air moves in from the north.

This system has the potential to bring heavy snow to the area to end the weekend and begin next week.

Right now, it looks like light snow will fall on Sunday morning and into the afternoon, giving us a couple of inches.

Then, snow becomes heavy after 5 p.m. with the heaviest snow falling Sunday night and Monday morning.

Several inches of snow could accumulate during this time. This has great potential to be a troublesome storm with slick travel conditions and flight delays.
