'Off The Ice' With Craig Adams: This Trip Was A Wake Up Call

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pittsburgh Penguins forward Craig Adams joined "The Cook and Poni Show" on Tuesday in his regular weekly spot.

Adams tells the guys that it felt like they had been gone a long time. It was a five-city trip that ended with a win last in Washington, D.C.

He said there were some good stretches and some not so good stretches of hockey on a winning trip as the Pens found a way to pick up three wins.

"We know we have a good team, but we learned we are not there yet on this trip," Adams said. "We spent too much time defending in our own zone. We can be better. It was a good wake up call."

Adams said he feels fine after taking a beating in the game last night as he and his teammates took some shots to the body in attempts to block shots. He said it's not as bad as it looks.

Adams also told the guys that Sidney Crosby really seems to have his best games against Washington.

"He was really on a mission last night," Adams said. "He certainly led the way."

The Pens will host the Washington Capitals tonight before playing a home-and-home this weekend against the Philadelphia Flyers.
