According to officials, at least one person was killed when a tractor-trailer and a car collided.

Police said the driver of the car was speeding in the direction of I-79, crossed the center line and struck the truck head-on. The driver of the car, a man, was killed in the crash.

The flat bed truck was from Castle Metals, out of Ohio.

"Witnesses stated that the driver of the truck was headed toward Carnegie on Noblestown Road in the Eastbound lane and the car was traveling westbound in the westbound lane," said Collier Township Police Officer Rick Lamb. "It started to slide, slid across the center median and slid driver's side first into the tractor trailer."

The mangled car then burst into flames.

The truck went over a guard rail, stopping near some train tracks.

No other information has been released at this time.
