Body Found In Ohio River Near Ambridge

AMBRIDGE(KDKA) – Police are trying to identify the body of a man found in the Ohio River Monday.

The body was found 2 p.m. in the water near Ambridge, but officials believe he was in the water for at least two to three weeks.

His body was spotted by someone at the Pittsburgh Intomobile Company.

The Ambridge Police Chief says the body is that of a white male, about 6 feet 2 or 3 inches tall and about 230 to 240 pounds. He was also found wearing blue jeans and combat boots, as well as a pair of sweat pants or shorts with yellow stripes down the sides.

Additionally, police say he was wearing a yellow LiveStrong bracelet and a friendship bracelet on one wrist – and an Ann Arbor Police bracelet and a woven green brown and dark bead bracelet on the the other wrist.

It's unclear how he ended up in the water, but it's believed he may have gone over the dam.
