Pirates Pitching Prospect Taillon To Undergo Tommy John Surgery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A top pitching prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates will miss at least a year of action due to surgery.

According to the Pirates, Jameson Taillon has suffered an injury to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and will undergo Tommy John surgery.

The typical recovery time from the surgery is 12-18 months.

Taillon was taken with the second overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft.

Last year, Taillon was 5-10 with a 3.73 ERA to go along with 143 strikeouts in the minor leagues.
