Crime Stoppers Seeks 2 Suspects In Shadyside Laundry Room Burglary

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police have released surveillance video from a burglary in the laundry room of an apartment building in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood.

The video shows two suspects first casing the laundry room, leaving, then returning moments later and removing a change machine, which was mounted on a wall.

It happened at the apartment building in the 600-block of Maryland Avenue.

The burglary netted the thieves a couple of hundred dollars.

One of the men in the video appears to be about 50. The other appears much younger, between 20- and 25-years-old. Both are described as white males.

The younger suspect is seen walking up to the camera and covering up the lens with what appears to be a towel.

"We have had a few burglaries in the Shadyside area, and police think the two men might be involved in other burglaries as well," Pittsburgh Police Lt. Daniel Herrmann said.

The older suspect was wearing a black Steelers' hoodie or jacket and blue jeans. The younger man had on a black ball cap and black sweatshirt and black jeans.

Anyone recognizing the suspects is asked to call the Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers number at 412-255-8477, or the Pittsburgh Police burglary squad at 412-323-7155.
