Pirates Recall, RHP Sadler From Indianapolis

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates made two roster moves Sunday ahead of their game with the St. Louis Cardinals.

In a statement released by the team, it was announced that the Pirates had called up right-handed pitcher Casey Sadler from Triple-A Indianapolis.

So far this season, Sadler is 3-0 with a 1.67 ERA in 27 innings pitched. He has struck out 16 while walking six.

He has also only allowed five earned runs in four starts.

To make room for Sadler, the Pirates optioned right-handed pitcher Jared Hughes to Indianapolis.

Hughes has appeared in two games for the parent club this season. He has pitched 2 1-3 innings and only allowed two hits.
