ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — The person of interest police were looking for in connection with a woman’s murder in Westmoreland County is now in police custody.

Police say 57-year-old Gregory Randall was being held at the Robinson Township Police Station following his arrest. He was taken into custody at the Groveton Village housing plan where his ex-girlfriend lives in Coraopolis.

He had been there for about three days.

Someone inside the home reportedly called 911 after seeing on the Internet that he was wanted by police.

“All weekend we were looking for Randall,” Chief John Berger, Ligonier Police. “We had some tips where people thought he might have been seen in the community, and about quarter to one this morning, Robinson Township Police got a call of, thanks to the media, he was over at an ex-girlfriend’s house.”

Randall reportedly is the boyfriend of the victim, 52-year-old Angela Cavalero.

She was found dead inside a home on Locust Road in Laughlintown over the weekend.

Police are still not revealing the details of how she was killed.

Police say Randall claims to have no memory of anything happening to victim.

“I don’t even remember. I don’t know anything about it and I have to talk to an attorney first,” he said on his way of the police station. “I wish my condolences and sorrow and sympathy. And I’m very, very sorry. I did love Angela. She was a nice person, but mean as hell.”

Court records show Randall has pleaded guilty to simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats multiple times.

“Their relationship has been very tumultuous,” said neighbor Judy Fyock on Monday. “They’ve (police) been there for domestics, three or four times that I can think in the last year.”

Randall is facing criminal homicide charges in the case.

He was arraigned in Allegheny County, and now will be returned to Westmoreland County where he will be arraigned for a second time.
