Water Main Break Causes Service Outage In Pleasant Hills

PLEASANT HILLS (KDKA) -- A water main break left several homes without water in Pleasant Hills late Thursday night, and residents say it's not the first time.

The break caused water to pour from a line near Temona Drive and Arbor Lane.

The road was shut down while crews worked to fix the pipe.

Penn American Water crews are working to make repairs.

They say an 8-inch pipe broke.

"We had some sandbags at our house, and my husband and two kids trucked it over to their house and made a line of sandbags to try and help a little bit," Pam Adams said.

Officials with the water company say some 40 customers were without water until Friday.

Neighbors are upset, and say this isn't the first time, and don't expect it will be the last time a pipe bursts.

"It seems every two years at least we have a water main break on this block somewhere, and somebody's house gets damaged, and it's just a shame," Adams said.
