Duquesne Basketball Players Arrested After Police Chase Them For 7 Blocks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two Duquesne University basketball players were arrested early Saturday after allegedly punching someone and leading police on a chase.

Police say Dukes guard Jeremiah Jones punched a 21-year-old man in the face. After punching him, police say Jones continued to walk away with fellow Dukes player Micah Mason.

As officers started approaching the two men, police say both ran away and were chased by officers for seven blocks before they were caught.

It's unclear what prompted Jones to punch the other man, but he was arrested and charged with simple assault, escape and public drunkenness.

Mason was also arrested and found with an altered PennDOT license which said that he is 23 years old, but police say he is actually only 20 years old. He was charged with forging his license.
