New Rewards Program Takes Off At Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A new rewards program will allow those who frequent Pittsburgh International Airport to earn frequent flyer miles, hotel points and cash back.

Airport Authority officials and Allegheny County executive Rich Fitzgerald announced the launch of FlyPIT Perks at a news conference Wednesday.

FlyPIT Perks is run by the Atlanta-based company Thanks Again. Flyers can register one, or several, credit or debit cards on Thanks Again's website.

Once the card is registered, customers can earn rewards by shopping at participating stores and restaurants at the airport.

Currently, 90 percent of the restaurants and shops in Pittsburgh International Airport are registered in the program, and even more are in the process of registering. Airport officials say you will also be able to earn rewards when you park at the airport.

"We have customers who love our air mall," Fitzgerald said, "and they have even more reason now to be repeat customers."

Thanks Again has similar programs already established at more than 160 airports nationwide.

"Thanks Again is at a number of other airports, and we've talked to those airports and found out what the customer reaction was and it's been really positive," said Allegheny County Airport Authority CFO Jim Gill.

For more information on how many hotel points and frequent flyer miles you can earn, as well as the cash back calculation, you can visit Thanks Again's website at www.thanksagain.com. You can also learn more about how to sign up and register your credit/debit card on their website.
