Water Main Break Leaves Sheraden Residents High And Dry

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- People are cleaning up from several water main breaks throughout the area.

Some Sheraden residents have been without water for 24 hours and are looking for answers.

Problems started with a water main break at the corner of Zephyr Avenue and Hammond Street in Sheraden.

Neighbors who live near the break say they have water, but people who live several blocks away say they were still without water Sunday night.

Rick Conti praises the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority for bringing in bottled water a water buffalo to his street, but he's worried about a lack of fire protection.

"That's the thing I was worried about, concerned, because they're going to get no pressure," he said. "What happens if we have a fire up here and they can't get no pressure – no water pressure. What are we going to do? I mean, we're stuck."

PWSA says crews will start repairs in the morning.
