PNC Park Makes PETA's Top 10 List For Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- As Pittsburghers, we all know PNC Park is the most beautiful ballpark in the country.
It even topped TripAdvisor's list of the Top American Ballparks earlier this year.
Now, PNC Park is getting another honor.
PETA has ranked it third on its list of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks.
Of course, PNC Park has all the staples, hot dogs, hamburgers, peanuts, as well as many decadent delights like the Tatchos that debuted at the beginning of this season.
But what about the Sloppy Janes, the Grilled Veggie Toaster and veggie burgers?
It's those menu options and more that PETA cites as PNC Park's "powerful lineup of meat-free options."
Other vegetarian menu items include:
- Vegetable rolls
- Seaweed salads
- BRGR's veggie burger
- Hummus & chips
- Veggie-stuffed pita
- Grilled Veggie Toaster
- Grilled flatbread with basil
- Marinara sauce
- Sloppy Janes
PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling said in a press release: "The Pirates are a young team on the rise, but PNC Park has cemented its place as one of the top vegetarian-friendly stadiums of 2014. Vegetarian baseball lovers can enjoy veggie burgers anywhere in the ballpark and delicious Sloppy Janes in the suites. Every year, we see more and more vegan options offered at stadiums across the country, which proves that baseball fans are, indeed, on the ball."
San Francisco's AT&T Park takes top honors on the list, and Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park comes in at No. 2.
