1 Killed, 1 Injured In Water Tank Truck Rollover Crash in Greene Co.

WAYNESBURG (KDKA) -- The driver of a water tank truck was killed and another person was injured in a rollover accident Wednesday afternoon in Greene County.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. along Route 88 at Eighty-Eight Road in Clarksville in Jefferson Township.

According to state police, the truck was headed south when the driver lost control on a right-hand curve in the road and traveled into the northbound land.

The tanker truck then rolled onto the driver's side, hit into Rachael Kelly's Nissan Xterra, and then continued to roll over a hillside and into a garage.

The Greene County Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 42-year-old Leroy Melvin Knisley of Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Kelly suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.

The tanker truck belonged to E.C.M. Energy Company of Clarksburg.

State police in Waynesburg continue to investigate the crash.
