Pitt RB James Conner Named To Doak Walker Award Watch List

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt Football Running Back James Conner, the teams leading rushed last year, has been named to the 2014 Doak Walker Award Watch List, an award presented annually to the nation's top running back.

Last year for the Panthers, Conner led the team in rushing yards with 799, rushing touchdown with eight while averaging 5.5 yards on 146 carries in 12 games.

This is the third preseason watch list Conner has been selected to as he was earlier named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, given to college football's player of the year, and the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, given to the country's most versatile player.
