P.F. Chang's Warning Customers Of Data Breach

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – P.F. Chang's China Bistro Ltd. is warning customers about a data breach at 33 of their stores nationwide, including one in Pittsburgh.

The company said the problem has been contained, and it has been securely processing credit and debit card data since June 11, a day after the U.S. Secret Service flagged a possible security problem.

The company says they have determined that the security of their card processing systems was compromised, and has reason to believe that the intruder may have stolen some data from certain credit and debit cards during certain times.

The company says three Pennsylvania restaurants were affected including the one on Settlers Ridge Road.

The dates compromised are from April 10 – June 11, 2014.

The company also says the P.F. Changs in Glen Mills, and Collegeville were affected.

"We are committed to providing support and resources, including complimentary identity protection services, for all guests that may potentially be affected by the security compromise," Chief Executive Rick Federico said in a statement Monday.

The company says data potentially stolen during the breach includes card numbers, as well as the cardholders' names and expiration dates in some instances, according to the company, which also said some of the suspected breaches date back to Oct. 19.

Additionally, the company said it is providing identity protection services for customers who may have been affected by the data theft.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) also encourages those who discover that their information has been misused to file a complaint with them.
