Police Investigate Fatal Crash On Ardmore Boulevard

NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA)- Police are investigating a deadly crash in North Braddock.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning along Ardmore Boulevard, Route 30, near the Vincent's Pizza.

Police say they believe 22-year-old Bria Walker fell asleep just before she crossed over into the eastbound lanes and crashed.

Officials say she crossed into the eastbound lanes, hit a curve and became airborne. The car then landed in an 8-foot ditch and she was ejected from the passenger window.

The Allegheny County Coroner and homicide detectives were on there. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ardmore Blvd was blocked off on both sides of the crash as officials investigated. However, it was reopened around 5 a.m.

People who live near Route 30 say the area where the accident happened is a dangerous stretch of highway.

"That area, stretch, period -- it's no lighting, especially at night and it just causes a lot of accidents," said neighbor Rick Mitchell.

Authorities won't know if alcohol was involved until they receive the results of the toxicology tests. Meanwhile, the medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
