2 Elementary Students Face Discipline For Toy Guns

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Two Pittsburgh elementary school students face discipline after one student shot another with a toy gun that fires plastic pellets, and another student was also found to have a similar gun.

Pittsburgh Public Schools spokeswoman Mercedes Howze says the incidents happened on a school bus Friday and involved students from Pittsburgh Liberty, a K-5 school.

A fourth-grader allegedly shot his gun, hitting another student in the leg. The student wasn't injured.

The student who shot the gun told school officials he got the toy from another student, who was found to also have a similar toy gun.

School police were continuing Wednesday to investigate where the student got the toy guns. Officials wouldn't say what kind of discipline the boys will face.
