1 Injured After Destructive Drive In Perry South

PERRY SOUTH (KDKA)- One person was rushed to the hospital after a vehicle hit several parked cars in the Perry South neighborhood.

The car slammed into at least three parked cars. The impact of the crash caused one of the parked cars to be thrown into a nearby apartment building.

"I just got out of the car, I went to sit on the couch, I heard a loud screeching noise and a bang, I looked out the window and my car was gone," said Keith Ptomey.

Ptomey's parked car ended up severing a gas meter outside the apartment. People inside of the apartments had to be evacuated for a short time.

"I didn't think my car would end up against the wall, pretty surprised. My car is done, it's totaled," said Ptomey.

The man driving the car that caused all of the destruction was taken to the hospital.

Nobody inside the apartment was hurt. Crews determined there was no structural damage. After the small gas leak was fixed, everyone was allowed back inside.

"It was a miracle that God got me out of the car and I had a chance to get into the house and watch some TV before it happened," said Ptomey.

There is no word on what charges the driver faces.
