Man Throws Brick Of Heroin Away While Fleeing Kennedy Twp. Police

KENNEDY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A suspected heroin dealer fled from police during a traffic stop Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers conducted a routine traffic stop on Pine Hollow Road in Kennedy Township.

At that time, the suspect took off running and threw a brick of heroin away in the process.

Officers from Pittsburgh, Robinson, Stowe and Kennedy Township were all involved in the search, which has been called off.

"Something like this in a small town like Kennedy township doesn't happen that often," said resident Tom Fenio. "I been here 30 years and I have yet to see something like that before."

The suspect has described as an African-American man with dreadlocks. However, he is not believed to be armed or dangerous, but is still on the loose.

"They caught the girl and the gentlemen exited the scene," said Fenio.

A woman in the car was taken in for questioning.

No other details have been released.
