Pirates' Fans Line Up For Playoff Tickets

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Wednesday night's win over the Boston Red Sox was the Pirates' 81st win of the season, assuring them their second-straight non-losing season.

But on the minds of most fans is the playoffs. They were lined up Thursday to get their hands on some coveted tickets.

"It's great. I got them last year and that playoff game was so electric. I had to come down here and be a part of it again," said one fan.

The Bucs haven't secured a spot in the postseason yet, but that didn't stop the diehards.

"I went through so many years of being at Three Rivers Stadium when they weren't winning, and sitting there you could hear yourself breath. So, like, last year and this year is so refreshing and I'm just happy to be able to do this," said Audrey Scott, of Brighton Heights.

The lines moved pretty quickly with some not getting their first choice of seats. But one thing everyone wanted, the Central Division crown.

"I'm hoping we can still catch the Cardinals, realistically, probably a Wild Card," said Ron Lape, of New Castle.

Lape's been coming to games this season with his granddaughters and son, who says it's the family atmosphere that keeps them coming back.

"I just love it and the pace of the game is very conducive to a relaxing type setting and just rooting for the Pirates is a lot of fun," said Todd Lape.

The Brewers come to town this weekend. Then, the final seven games of the regular season are on the road.
