Man Charged With Sending Lewd Photos To Teen Daughter's Friend

BEAVER (KDKA) -- Police were called to Ambridge High School after a 16-year-old student showed a counselor inappropriate pictures and text messages on her cell phone.

They were sent by the father of one her friends, 49-year-old Steve Martin is accused of sending the teenager naked pictures of him in the shower and sexually explicit videos requesting the juvenile perform sex acts.

Martin was charged with five felony counts of corruption of a minor. While interviewing the juvenile, police discovered there was more.

The girl claimed she was sexually assaulted by Martin in Old Economy Park in August.

"Apparently it happened at a pavilion inside of the park," said Economy Borough Police Chief Michael O'Brien. "And as far as we can tell from her forensic interview, it was a molesting-type situation that took place, without her consent."

According to the criminal complaint, Martin allegedly pulled down the victims shorts and exposed himself.

She said Martin only stopped when he saw another person walking in the area. He now faces additional charges.

Martin apologized for sending the nude pictures and for the shame and embarrassment to his family.

He said in a text message that he hoped the victim's family would not contact police.
