Mother Of 3 Wants Answers After Gunfire Encases Her Home

STOWE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A local mother says her and her kids awoke to gunfire in the middle of the night.

Their home is riddled with bullets.

Now they want to know who did it and why.

"I don't understand how my house got hit so many times," the woman who lives inside said. "And it wasn't for nobody here."

It's easy to understand why the mother of three was fearful of sharing her identity. After all, overnight, someone shot as many as 14 gunshots into her Pleasant Ridge home in Stowe Township.

And she says she has no idea why.

"We were all in the house asleep," she said. "I heard shooting and I sat up in the bed and I put my hand over my heart and I said, oh my God."

The terrified mother said she gathered everyone in the hallway and made sure they were OK. But it wasn't until a short time later when she looked outside and realized the gunfire was much closer than originally thought.

"I came out and it looked like Swiss cheese," she said. "Holes everywhere. Glass shattered."

"We just kept finding bullet holes, shell casings," she added. "I was frightened. You know what I mean? I was terrified."

After all that gunfire, the woman says a good night's sleep was impossible and she wishes surveillance cameras in the community of Pleasant Ridge would be a little more helpful.

"They say they have cameras up here, but they never work," she said. "They never catch anything."
