Police: Woman Claimed To Be Dead Sister During DUI
TYRONE, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges that she was driving drunk - and then used her dead sister's identity after she was stopped by police.
Thirty-five-year-old Crystal Lample, of Ellwood City, waived her right to a preliminary hearing on drunken driving, providing a false identification and other charges Tuesday.
Police in Tyrone, Blair County, arrested her Sept. 11 after receiving a report of an erratic driver.
Police say Lample could barely stand and claimed to be Brandi Lee Miller, of Ellwood City. Police later determined that Miller died in 2010.
Lample's public defender didn't immediately return a call for comment Wednesday, and her home telephone was disconnected.
The Altoona Mirror reports that a friend of Lample's told police she uses her dead sister's name when dealing with the police.
