3 Facing Charges After Argument Leads To Gunfire, Chase On South Side
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Three men are facing charges after an argument, shooting and police chase early Saturday morning on Pittsburgh's South Side.
According to police, it all started in the 2200-block of East Carson Street when an off-duty police officer working a security detail at Margarittaville reported shots being fired and a vehicle fleeing the scene.
Investigators say the three men in the vehicle had gotten into an argument before taking off.
It's not known who they were arguing with, but police say a bystander – a 21-year-old woman – was shot in the hand.
Police say they spotted the vehicle driving recklessly just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of South 14th Street and Muriel Street and tried to pull it over.
However, the white Chevrolet Impala took off and officers called for backup, surrounding the vehicle at 2nd Avenue and South 10th Street.
It was there that two of the men, 25-year-old Kevin Williams and 24-year-old Quamane Bryant, were arrested. The third man, 23-year-old Gregory Blair Jr., was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital for a gunshot wound to the elbow. Police say they have also requested a warrant for his arrest.
All three men are from the Hill District.
Police say they also recovered a gun from Blair when he was taken out of the vehicle.
The bystander who was shot earlier in the night was also taken to Mercy Hospital where she was treated and released.
Another vehicle and the front window of Southside Tattoo were damaged in the gunfire.
Williams, Bryant and Blair are facing charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy and fleeing or attempted to elude police.
