New Shops Unveiled at Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A new look and some new options are now available at Pittsburgh International Airport.

A renovated retail corridor was unveiled to the public Monday.

Community and airport leaders were on hand for the official ribbon cutting.

"When people come through here, they enjoy shopping, they enjoy dining, and really some of the unique opportunities that are here at the airmall," Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said.

The ten-million dollar project completed by "Airmall" features high end stores like Armani jeans, Hugo Boss, and Furla.

"We knew with the demographics that we have here at the airport that we could be successful with a lot of these brands. These are additional brands to what we already had as an award winning Airmall, so it's not changing the mix, it's adding to the mix," Airmall's Jay Kruisselbrink said.

There are a total of nine-brand new retail stores in the center area of the airside terminal. Airmall is hoping to attract both Pittsburgh travelers and other travelers.

Besides the new shops, and the two 19-foot video walls, new artwork will be going up to give the terminal a true Pittsburgh feel.
