Body Found In Riverview Park Identified As 16-Year-Old Homewood Girl

NORTH SIDE (KDKA) - The Medical Examiner is working to identify the body of teenager found Monday afternoon on the North Side.

According to police, a jogger spotted the the girl's nude body in Riverview Park around 12:40 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the body of Teaira Whitehead, 16, of Homewood.

Police are investigating Whitehead's death as suspicious.

Whitehead's last contact with her family was on Sunday evening.

"I'm praying to god police will find who did this to her," neighbors say.

Autopsy results have been completed, but haven't been released yet.

Pittsburgh Public Schools say the last time Whitehead was a student was at Westinghouse in 2011.
