Person Of Interest Involved With University Prep Incident In Custody
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police took a 19-year-old involved with an incident at University Prep High School in the Hill District into custody Saturday afternoon.
Police say Marcus Smith, who is also known by the name "Sharko," is considered a person of interest and wanted for his involvement with an incident at the school.
It's unclear what the incident is.
Smith faces charges of criminal trespass, illegal possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.
He is being taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
University Prep High School made headlines earlier this week after a 17-year-old student was shot and killed outside of his home in the Hill District.
Eric Young was gunned down on his way to school.
Police said Friday that they were ramping up patrols in the Hill District following Young's death.
