PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – A member of the Pirates organization for 29 years, bench coach Jeff Banister has been interviewing for open managerial positions this off-season and has reached the final three for the Texas Rangers’ position.

Banister will be competing with interim Rangers manager Tom Bogar and Cleveland Indians bullpen coach Kevin Cash.

When it comes to Bansiter’s qualifications for the position, Grant points out the valuable experience Banister has had the last four seasons while watching Clint Hurdle turn around the Pirates.
