Lawrence Timmons On How Steelers' Defense Can Turn Things Around

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Friday to talk about the team's 3-3 start and the upcoming Monday Night Football matchup against the Texans.

Timmons told the guys what he thinks the defense has to do to improve after a rough outing against the Browns.

"I feel like we need to definitely take over the line of scrimmage," Timmons said. "That's what the D-line and linebackers and guys like myself [have to do]-- also, get turnovers. I feel like it we get turnovers, that'll be a big change in the game. I feel like we do those things, and give our offense a short field, it would be tremendous for us."

He said that the young guys on defense have done a good job of adjusting and becoming an asset for the unit.

"Actually, it's going well," Timmons said. "Our young guys are picking up the scheme well. They're actually making more plays- you see guys like Sean Spence coming in and making a lot of plays for us. The guys are being like sponges. I'm doing a good job of talking to them, letting them know what they have to do, and they just go out there and react like myself and play ball."
