Bill Cowher: Jets Are 'Not A Team To Be Taken Lightly'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – "NFL on CBS" analyst and former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher joined "The Fan Morning Show" Tuesday to talk about the state of the black and gold.

The Steelers have won three in a row and will go on the road this week to take on the New York Jets (1-8).

Cowher warned Steelers fans that it may be a mistake to not take the Jets seriously.

"You've experienced it before," Cowher said. "You watched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers get blown out against Atlanta, come up, and all of a sudden play this unbelievable game. Michael Vick will probably be starting. Percy Harvin had a very good game last week. This will be his third week now of being in New York, and he's a playmaker. And still defensively, the secondary has struggled at times, but they still have a very potent front four that can put pressure on the quarterback, and they've got a couple runners. Chris Ivory is a good runner. Chris Johnson is a good runner."

Despite only winning one game so far this season, Cowher said the Jets have been close in the second half of a few games.

"This is a team, for the most part, they've been in a lot of games, and they just have lost some games in the second half. So, this is not a team to be taken lightly," Cowher said. "Rex Ryan, there's a lot of heat up here, a lot of talk about his job security, but the thing you can be rest assured [of] with a Rex Ryan team - they're going to play hard."
