PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – A sore spot for Pirates fans for years, third base coach Nick Leyva is part of a number of staff changes made by the team.

As part of a series of moves made to the team’s coaching staff, the Pirates announced that Levya will move from third base coach to first base with outfield-baserunning coach Rick Sofield moving from first base coach to third base.

In addition to those moves, the Pirates also announced that Brad Fischer has joined the Major League coaching staff.

Prior to this promotion, Fischer spent each of the last three years as Pittsburgh’s Minor League Field Coordinator after serving as an Advisor to Player Development in 2011.
