Big Ben Looking To Bring Sports-Themed Restaurant To Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A quarterback and now a restaurateur.

Ben Roethlisberger is looking to open a restaurant in the Pittsburgh area.

The Steelers quarterback is an investor in the King Street Grille, which is a restaurant chain that currently has seven locations in South Carolina.

"My focus is football. I'm lucky to have partners that do all the stuff and I just have my name on it," said Roethlisberger. "So, it's not like this is a first, we've got a couple of them down south. We're going to bring one up here, and like I said, I have to defer all my answers to them because I focus on football, I don't focus on anything else right now."

The eatery is described as upscale and sports-themed.

In their search to expand north, the group has started checking out spaces in the North Hills.

But in a press release, Terri Sokoloff, the president of the firm that represents the restaurant, says they aren't limiting their options.

"Our focus is primarily in the North Hills for the first location; however, we our reviewing the marketplace," Sokoloff said. "We will also consider second-generation spaces if the location is right. We're very excited to be working with King Street Grille on its expansion into Pennsylvania. The timing couldn't be better."

The plan is for the restaurant to also serve as a space to host events for the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation.
