Getting To Know The "Godfather" Of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio1020 KDKA) - The Godfather of the Steel City or hype to sell a television show? Dan Zangrilli got to the bottom of it on the KDKA Afternoon News.

Vince Isoldi, dubbed the "Godfather of Pittsburgh" according to A&E's new reality show but how does he view it?

"I think all my life I'm trying to struggle with people saying I'm not associated with that kinda stuff and they don't believe me," Isoldi explained, "Now they put this label on me and now they're saying this guys a nobody so you know it's like damned if you do damned if you don't type of deal."

Now Isoldi says he has fought the stereotype most of his life so now the only thing left to do is just have fun with it.

"It's been a wild ride, I mean it's been hard work that's for sure having these cameras around and really intrusive you know it hasn't been easy. It's probably the hardest thing I've had to do in my life," Isoldi said.

Isoldi tells Zangrilli he tries to live a low key life and keep a low profile. So of course the natural curiosity is there as to if he thinks the show is true to his family and the image he has tried to model himself after.

"I haven't seen it all yet but, so far its good," Isoldi said.

As far as if he would recommend the opportunity to other people who are approached by a network, he says it's a hard offer to pass up. They have had a lot of filming that went into the nine episodes but, the publicity can only be good for his family and his family business.

You can catch the Godfather of Pittsburgh on A&E Monday's at 10pm. Listen to the whole interview with Vince Isoldi here!
