Police: Pa. Coach Named Ronald McDonald Sent Students 'Sexts'

DILLSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania police say they've arrested a high school basketball coach named Ronald McDonald for allegedly sending sexual text messages to two female students.

The 40-year-old former Northern High School coach is charged with multiple counts of institutional sexual assault and corruption of a minor.

Police say McDonald texted the juvenile students between September 2013 and February 2014. He was arrested Nov. 19 but police didn't detail the allegations until this week.

McDonald coached Northern's boys' varsity basketball team for three seasons. The Carroll Township man left the south central Pennsylvania school after the 2013-2014 season.

McDonald is free on $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 5.

McDonald's lawyer did not immediately respond to a message.

A message left at a number listed for McDonald wasn't immediately returned.
