Police Search For Armed Robber Who Hit Rostraver Businesses

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An armed robber hit two gas stations in Rostraver Township just days apart.

Police say it could be the same guy in both robberies.

And they fear he'll strike again – or escalate the violence.

He's got a gun and as surveillance video shows, he's not afraid to show it.

The suspect brandished a silver, semi-automatic pistol. He held it in his right hand and pointed the gun at the clerk.

Police say the description in both robberies is pretty similar: a dark blue hoodie, bandana on the face and a silver semi-automatic gun. In both robberies, he demanded and got cash. At the Marathon, he got some Newports too.

"I'm not saying that this is related, but there are some similarities, it appears that it could be," said Rostraver Police Chief Greg Resetar.

He hit two gas stations on Route 51 within days of each other. He hit a Marathon gas station and a CoGo.

Police fear he'll hit again and could hit harder.

"It seems like over time, the violence escalates," Resetar said. "He's already brandished a firearm. What's to say that he doesn't' get agitate and use the firearm?"

In both robberies, the bandit ran away.

If you think you know who he is, or if you know anything about the robberies, call Rostraver Township Police.
