ADAMSBURG (KDKA)- Officials are looking into the cause of a fire early Friday morning in the town of Adamsburg, Westmoreland County.

The fire started around 12:20 a.m. at a home on Wendell Road.

The fire was in the basement of the home and mostly just smoke.

A dog inside the home was able to wake up the only woman living there. Both of them escaped the fire safely.

The fire was contained to the basement.

The county fire marshal is looking into the cause of the fire.
