Le'Veon Bell Named AFC Offensive Player Of The Week

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Following his 235 total yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns in a key AFC North victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Bell became just the second player in league history to record at least 200 yards from scrimmage in three straight games, tying Hall of Famer Walter Payton.

This also marked Bell's fourth 100-yard rushing game of the year and 11th time this season he has had at least 100 yards from scrimmage.

Bell is a first time recipient of the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. This is also the first time a Steelers running back has won the award since Rashard Mendenhall in 2011.

On the year, Bell is second in the NFL in rushing yards with 1,231, trailing only DeMarco Murray's 1,606 for the Cowboys.

Bell also trails only Murray in total yards from scrimmage, but that race is much closer as Murray has 1,998 yards to Bell's 1,924.
