1 Shot During Hold Up At Pool Hall In Larimer

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The owner of a local pool hall is recovering from a gunshot wound after a violent armed robbery in Pittsburgh's Larimer neighborhood Tuesday evening.

It happened inside Duke and Duchess Billiards in the 6500-block of Frankstown Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Witnesses told police two men stormed into the business, which is also a jitney station, and demanded everyone hand over all their money.

Public Information Officer Sonya Toler addressed reporters at the scene.

"Witnesses inside said two black males entered; they both had guns; they asked everyone to hand over their money," said Toler. "They also went into the second room in the back, where the pool room is and shot the owner in the stomach one time."

Toler said the man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was last listed in serious condition.

The actors are black males in their 20s or 30s. They are both about six-feet tall and have full beards.

The owner of the pool hall was the only person wounded.

Witnesses are cooperating with police.

Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to contact police by calling 911.
