Teacher's Aide Headed To Trial After Allegedly Sleeping With Student

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A former teacher's aide accused of having a sexual relationship with a student is headed to trial.

Ex-Valley High School aide, 39-year-old Christina Domme, had a hearing Thursday on charges she allegedly slept with a 17-year-old student.

There was no testimony. She and her lawyer chose to waive her right to a preliminary hearing, and now the case moves forward to a judge or jury.

Neither Domme nor her lawyer had much to say following the proceeding.

KDKA's Harold Hayes: "Do you have any comment?"

Domme's Lawyer: "No comment."

Hayes: "Can you tell us why the case was held over?"

Domme's Lawyer: "We don't have any comment."

Domme is accused of having sex with the 17-year-old student and buying him $300 worth of clothing, as well as cigarettes.

When she was arrested, the New Kensington police chief explained how the case began to unfold.

"She had bought him some gifts," said New Kensington Police Chief Tom Klawinski. "His mother found these gifts. His mother became upset about those, questioning him about the gifts."

The chief says they were alerted to the situation on Nov. 21 after a child line complaint was received by the police department about the relationship.

The boy told police the clothing had been purchased during a trip to Pittsburgh Mills Mall and that he and Domme met several times at a New Kensington gas station after school and then went to her apartment.

The criminal complaint, though, says Domme claims the boy initiated the relationship and the sex.

She is to be arraigned in March on a charge of having sexual contact with a student.
