PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won’t need knee surgery during the offseason.

CBS Sports reports that ESPN talked to Roethlisberger’s agent who says he’ll test his knee before offseason training begins.

Roethlisberger had opted out of the pro-bowl.

CBS Sports reports that Roethlisberger is expected to negotiate his contract with the Steelers soon regarding a new extension.

His current contract expires at the end of the coming season.
